Wisconsin Leaguers Going to LWVUS Convention New Position Adopted at Annual Meeting The State Board hosted this year’s Annual Meeting in Madison last weekend, with more than 100 League members and friends attending the meetings, luncheon, workshops and/or social reception. Delegates voted to concur with the Milwaukee County League's new position on Lending Industry Practices, Part 2 - Predatory Sub-Prime Loans. Sixty League members and friends were trained and deputized by the Government Accountability Board (GAB) to register voters who live in any municipality in the state. Ohio Legislature Passes Great Lakes Compact On Tuesday, both houses of the Ohio Legislature passed the Great Lakes Compact. The Governor has promised to sign it. Michigan and Pennsylvania will be the only two left of eight states needed to ratify the Compact - and then it goes to Congress! Going to Portland! Nine Wisconsin League members, representing six local Leagues and the state League, will be delegates at the LWVUS Convention in Portland, Oregon, June 13-17. More news next week!
